Norman Niemer is the Chief Data Scientist within UBS Asset Management's Quant & Data Science (QED) team where he delivers data-driven investment insights. He is also responsible for both the business as well as technical aspects of multiple innovation projects that augment human decision makers with machine intelligence.
Prior to UBS Asset Management, Norman led the data science efforts at UBS O'Connor, worked as an investment analyst at Caxton Associates and Morgan Stanley and even founded a tech company in high school. Outside of investment management, he has led teams that built data- and AI-based products that won several high profile hackathons including Techcrunch NY, Fintech NY and Mastercard Masters of Code NY.
He holds a MS Financial Engineering from Columbia University and a BS in Banking and Finance from Cass Business School (London).
Janet currently leads the Industry Strategy for Financial Services at Microsoft UK, ensuring that drivers of change and emerging technological trends across the sector are core to how Microsoft works with Financial Services organizations, supporting their digital transformation.
Before joining Microsoft in 2018 Janet held roles within commercial banking; most latterly at Lloyds Banking Group and prior to that at Barclays and RBS. She has a personal interest in cultural transformation and has also played an active role in supporting and driving the inclusion and diversity agenda during her career.
Peter is Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Carruthers & Jackson, an international data consulting and events organization, founded in 2018 with his co-author Caroline Carruthers.
Prior to this Peter was Group Director, Data Sciences at Legal and General and also held the position as CDO of LGIM (the L&G Investment Management). Before joining L&G Peter was
Chief Data Officer at Southern Water after a period as Head of Data at The Pensions Regulator (TPR).
Before joining TPR Peter spent 17 years providing data strategy consultancy across the not for profit sector, financial services and FMCG, working with large multi-national organizations and blue chip brands.
Peter is a specialist in Data Strategy, Data Technologies, Master Data Management Strategies, Data Governance Frameworks, GDPR and Data Science. Peter is the co-author of ‘The Chief Data Officer’s Playbook’ published by Facet November 2017, ‘Data-Driven Business Transformation’ published in March 2019 by
Wiley and 2nd edition ‘The Chief Data Officers Playbook’ published 2020.
Peter is an international speaker on Data, Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and business transformation and co-founded the Chief Data Officers’ Summer School which has an international alumni
